Cable & Wireless is deploying Pace/C-Cube boxes............ cabletoday.com CWC Rolls Out Digital TV to 190K British HHs April 11, 2000 The continuing rollout of digital-cable service by British operator Cable & Wireless Communications Plc. stands at nearly 190,000 orders, including more than 150,000 installations, reports Reuters. The rollout will be extended to Greater London in the summer, and is already available in the northwest, parts of the Midlands and the southeast of England. The company has signed up more than 40 content partners, and further services are planned including the introduction of enhanced TV and voice-activated applications. CWC received an okay last month from the British government to sell its UK cable TV interests to NTL Communications Corp. [NTLI].
