"April is the cruelest month."

Probably not, though. In 1998, the cruelest month was August.

Ciao,
David

But what is IT, in the "it will come up." I think this will be a good learning experience for all the newbies who have never seen their portfolios reverse. I'm loving this, because as a long term investor in what I consider to be prudent, "real" high tech companies, the Naz as an index was absurdly valued, taken in the aggregate. Since it appears this is an orderly retreat (so far) we may well purge the excesses, eliminate the gamblers on margin, put the fear element so lacking back into the equation, and refocus at least to some degree on fundamentals which include earnings in some reasonable time frame.
An orderly retreat which doesn't affect the economy inordinately was the prescription needed, we may be seeing just that. I hope.

just checked with TEFQX....my son bought it back in december for his IRA. He had just come off a great eight year run with american century ultra-I had put all his "lawn mowing money" in that fund. It had made so much money that he just took out only a minor amount to buy his wedding ring for his upcoming marriage. He was riding quite high thinking that all markets went up. I am glad that he is experiencing this at this point in his investment career. It is a humbling experience to watch and an even more humbling experience to participate in.....I tried to get him to sell in January, but no! it is for the long term.....this is going only up! blah,blah,blah......rich
