This is true. A couple of months ago my brother-in-law who is a financial planner told me of a number of his clients who expressed a desire to close out safe investments in conservative mutual funds in order to day trade tech stocks. That should have been the hand writing on the wall to me when "unsophisticated" long-term mutual fund holders wanted in "on the action." You know the saying - the last at the party are left holding the bag.
