I'll try again to cover my SPY short tomorrow at 142 3/4. Was getting closer today. Still would hold my large URPIX 2beta short fund. If you look we're down a lousy 2 points in the S&P since Bob's 12/31/99 benchmark. With a bear we would go down close to another 20% from here. So far we had people evacuating the non tech stocks and all starting to squeeze into NASDAQ stocks. We are now in the next step. Cleaning out the recent NASDAQ entrants and finally cleaning out those who moved to old economy as some safe haven. May take a long time but I still think we will accelerate to the down side in May or so

covered my SPY short position this morning at 142 5/8. While I obviously would have a better price at the moment I had already arbitraged the short position into the 2beta S&P short ultrabear fund. I was just playing around holding the double short position for a while and made a few bucks on the gamble. Now back to no margin and will just continue to lose money as my NASDAQ type stuff does worse than my S&P short fund. That P/C ratio finally rising could signal a NASDAQ rally soon at least for a while. Bob Brinker believers need to keep in mind his model calls for a greater than 20% drop in the S&P500 from its 12/31/99 level
