Yes, but if your running a pico net within your own camera store or Thrifty drug store, then you can hog whatever you like. Why not? I have a road runner cable modem which runs about 650 Mbit per sec and I transfer photos to friends all the time. I send 2-4 Mbytes in a few seconds. Not that much of a problem. I guess if your one of those 8 frames a second guys and you want to shoot continuosly and never heard of digital video tape, then it wouldn't work out for you.

the way most camera guys think of it is that if you had the ability to download in the background over wireless, then you could take 50 picutres and let it start downloading while your eating lunch and when your done, the camera is essentially fully loaded again.

As for Cameras, most have setting which allow you to dial in whatever resolution and megapixel range you want. Most users do NOT use the highest resolution, as it does not increase the picture that much. Like how many actual users ever know how to use that expensive SLR and actualy know what the film responses are? HOw many people do you know that EVER look at film expiration dates when they buy their film at the Supermarket or Price Club? Less than 1%. Having been a serious amateur photog for years, I have a full up Nikon N90 as well as 5 digital cameras ranging from a simple 800 by 1200 to a full 4 Mpixel machine. Only on shots where I feel I need to use them later do I use the full mega pixel range. Most family and around town shots can be done with the 1100 by 1280 mode and store nicely in 1 Mbit. Can't tell that from regular 200 ASA grain anyway.
