I agree Bob. I've also collected for many years, mostly Canadian stuff though. In 1987 Canada issued the looney, a dollar coin which is nickel electroplated with bronze. It was a pathetic attempt to make the coin appear golden. It tarnishes very rapidly and also wears faster than any of our other coins.

P.S. - I do have a smaller collection of U.S. coins that I add to when ever I get the chance. We visit the Boston area at least once a year as my better half is from there.
