ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2000-- Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation to deploy Clarus(TM)
eProcurement roll-out Clarus Corporation (NASDAQ:CLRS), a leading business-to-business e-Commerce solutions provider, has been selected by Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation (NASDAQ:SSCC) to provide the flagship Clarus(TM) eProcurement product to more than 200 of its facilities in the United States.
Bob Breimeier, vice president, Smurfit-Stone, is leading the eProcurement initiative, which he indicated is driven by the need for visibility and aggregation of primarily maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) expenditures. He added that Clarus was chosen because they met SSCC's objectives of improved process work flow, effective content management, ease of training, good analytical and reporting capabilities, control of maverick spending and facilitation of future integration.
PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world's largest professional services organization, has been selected as the implementation partner for the pilot. Smurfit-Stone plans to pilot Clarus eProcurement during the next two months and will then begin an aggressive implementation plan following the pilot. The Smurfit-Stone implementation also will include the deployment of Clarus(TM) eTour, a Web-based training (WBT) module that provides a multi-sensory approach to training and support for the users of Clarus eProcurement. Clarus(TM) View will be utilized to provide dynamic analytics and reporting capabilities.
