Story 1631 (CLRS, JS, SSCC)

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2000--

Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation to deploy Clarus(TM)

eProcurement roll-out

Clarus Corporation (NASDAQ:CLRS), a leading business-to-business e-Commerce
solutions provider, has been selected by Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation
(NASDAQ:SSCC) to provide the flagship Clarus(TM) eProcurement product to more
than 200 of its facilities in the United States.

Bob Breimeier, vice president, Smurfit-Stone, is leading the eProcurement

aggregation of primarily maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) expenditures. He
added that Clarus was chosen because they met SSCC's objectives of improved

analytical and reporting capabilities, control of maverick spending and

PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world's largest professional services organization,
has been selected as the implementation partner for the pilot. Smurfit-Stone
plans to pilot Clarus eProcurement during the next two months and will then begin
an aggressive implementation plan following the pilot. The Smurfit-Stone
implementation also will include the deployment of Clarus(TM) eTour, a Web-based
training (WBT) module that provides a multi-sensory approach to training and
support for the users of Clarus eProcurement. Clarus(TM) View will be utilized to
provide dynamic analytics and reporting capabilities.

"The distinct advantages provided by the Clarus Commerce suite include the open,
direct architecture of ClarusDirect and the absence of transaction fees imposed
on Clarus customers and their suppliers," said Steve Jeffery, president and CEO
of Clarus. "These differentiators allow our customers to quickly reap the ROI
benefits of eProcurement, as well as present new business opportunities in the
form of future e-commerce solutions for Smurfit-Stone's customers."
