Hey Frankie, Irridium failed because of a FLAWED business plan -- not enough demand for very remote access service -- not due to inability to launch satellites. So I suggest you do some homework before spouting off your "shallow, low-tech mastery of networking buzz words" because it just demonstrates how "old" you are UNCLE. No one is suggesting that spending money is a guarantee of success (as CISCO WILL FIND OUT). I was merely pointing out that the current understanding of optics and engineering is more than adquate enough to build an all-optical network. By the way you must be another Cisco follower who belives you know more about the Optics physics than the NT scientists? Amazing.
