Crystal Ball...Agree, though the savvy investors will use the overall selloff to accumulate the very best of the "new tech" techs. IMO, they will bottom soon and rise steadily with minor hiccups through the summer--Mark--

Sometimes I really don't like your crystal ball....but it's far too accurate to smash. Me, I've got my magic 8 ball...."yes, no, try again." ggg

Rande, I'm with you on that 'crystal ball' outlook. Two basic nasdaq scenarios: we test apr 4th low... yet don't reach it... putting in a higher low... and causing a decent bounce. Option 2: we break the intraday low from apr 4th, and subsequently head towards the 200 dma... which is slightly less than 3500 if i'm not mistaken. I think option one is likely... for a SHORT TERM bounce... afterwards... i think option 2 will come into play. After the actual nasdaq bottom... which won't be obvious until we look at in retrospect... we will receive a strong 5-10% bounce (just like the days after apr 4th... as predicted)... then we go sideways for months until confidence is regained... which will eventually turn into speculative fever again. JMHO

Been catching up on the thread today... haven't been trading for weeks... want to express my sympathy to those feeling a lot of pain due to recent declines. If you learn from it... it will be okay!

Secondly, want to express my gratitude to the many posters here that have taught me so much (whether you know it or not). The number one lesson I have taken from this thread in over a year of reading it: "Learn to think for yourself!" Thank you threadsters... either directly or otherwise... you have both made and -SAVED- me money.

Also, my boss from last fall called and gave me an offer I couldn't refuse... so I'm back to working for him once the seasonal road restrictions come off (soon). The easy money in the markets has already been made... and I will be trading very little until the next bull run comes along. I may be taking a few positions in selected companies with a good story that is unfolding <position trading>... but it will have to be VERY compelling.

In the mean time... will continue to read the threads I have bookmarked each day when I get home from work... and will be focused primarily upon learning TA... that is my goal for this upcoming slow period... to become a TA wizard.

Hehe, I can dream... can't I???

Best regards,
Dave

Rande Is: If you are correct, and NASDAQ begins to approach the 3000 level, would you be aggressively buying tech stocks again in anticipation of a bounce? Or is this akin to "catching the falling knife?" Are you going to avoid the techs entirely over the summer? Also, are you still going to hold a summer portfolio of non-tech stocks in addition to your REITS?
