Most of those who have shorted these stocks, shorted at values substantially higher (I believe) than the current value, as such there will be no squeeze, just profit taking on their part when they feel that the stock has bottomed. I would be concerned that these more sophisiticated traders feel that the risk is still worthwhile for them to hold. This tells me that they believe the stock will be lower, not higher from the current levels.
