Frank-- I do not believe it will get much worse but it sure does not look to do much until the doj crap is finished. Compuware warning tonight MAY reinforce the software selloff tomorrow.
Yes, the NAS may be well over 5K by the end of the year and msft may or may not participate.
I do not blame GS for saying what they be;ieve. MSFT should blow this qtr out of the water even with the small amount of the qtr W2K was on shelves,,, but the unsettled case will weigh on the minds of product buyers as well as investors. For some reason no one wants to understand that these lawsuits are a cost of business to be minimized--- and msft has not realized that yet and are at fault also. At times it is much cheaper to pay or change some practices than to go this route,, right or wrong. Anyone that believes the doj suit and others to come will not have a bearing on bottom line this year -- and for years to come is in the dark. IMO msft will see triple digit this year-- but I am no longer certain we will see the 120 again this year unless there are changes coming quickly...
