William - thanks for your thoughts on the current situation.

While you provide an interesting economic explanation for why the Nasdaq should decline 1200 points in two weeks, is it not also possible that little more than investor mania drove the Nasdaq to 5000 in the first place - and that little more than investor panic is driving the recent fall? And if investor mania and panic have been driving these moves, then one could argue that when we settle, perhaps somewhere in the 3000-4000 range, that we might actually be achieving stability. And that a stable market doesn't see the swings, both up and down, that we've seen over the past three to four months. Do you disagree?
