WOW!!! TERN got spanked today - didn't they!!! Well, I'm not high on TERN... they're a bit player who's real opportunity is to get bought. $5B cap on a $250M run rate.... not a bad multiple for the market they're in but given that such a large % of their revenues are CPE they have signficant challenges. 1) Even with S-CDMA head end equipment they haven't got the name to penetrate the MSO's in a significant way 2) Consumer Electronics manufacturers will create price errosion 3) QoS and security are missing... where's their DOCSIS 1.1 modems? 4) They appear to be behind on multi-service delivery 5) Competing with CSCO, MOT, LU, NT, and COMS will not be easy.... and well... who is the suitor if these companies have their product lines filled out? I think there are better plays.... or.... am I missing something??? OG
