Actually, Koop certificates might be cheaper than wallpaper in a few days. <g> Yes, if you indicated to your broker that you want to accept delivery of the shares (rather than have them be held in street name) they will send it to you. You can't do that in a margin account, however...the shares must be in street name to be "marginable".

You not only can order certs from your broker, but you can allegedly create a panic among shorts by saying you are ordering your certs and making it impossible for them to borrow the shares to short. Of course, I've never seen that actually work, but it is the last sign of a stock that is going down the tubes. Call for your certs!!!

I have a sneaking suspicion that you can get Dr. Koop certificates for less if you wait just a little bit longer. Your suggestion of a Bubble wall for the den is intriguing. I wonder what Iridium certificates look like? Martha Stewart? World Wide Wrestling?

John,

Your idea of certs on some of these stocks imo is a great idea. Your grand children or great grand children will be able to sell them for a very nice price.

Joan

Fine idea. You only need to order one share, though.

Disney had a heck of a time a couple years ago 'cause people were ordering single shares as Christmas gifts for kids. I think they reacted by adding some sort of fee for getting the physical certificate. Didn't do much to demand because the certificates were pretty kewl looking with Mickey, Snow White and all. -g-
