Video on demand over the internet? On cable or wireless? I would love to see a hose that big!

I would hesitate to guess at the amount of money lost by companies the last 5 years trying to set up Video on Demand.

It looks to me as the way it will go would be to download the Video to the customer in one shot, and let them store and play in back as they pleased.

Dinesh,

You're right that we've been down this path in the past.

What if we had enough bandwidth to do video on demand, and there was really no need to record anything - just view it.

You're right about that too. When video on demand becomes ubiquitous, I'll address that concern. I'm not sure I'll still be investing when that happens. In the mean time, I'm happy though open minded about my thinking regarding the problems for which Gemstar provides solutions.
