As someone whom is now 80% SUNW and always looking to diversify, I've looked at EMC. I think it's a great equity to own. I'm just not of an opinion that it's a better equity to hold in lieu of or in addition to SUNW. I can't seem to escape the comfortable diversity of SUNW. -JCJ

Dear Qwark: I also own EMC as well as SUNW. In fact SUNW is the largest and EMC the second largest of my holdings. Personally, I dont see SUNW as a direct competitor to EMC at least at this time. From what I have heard, I think SUNW storage is basically for their own systems (ie SUNW is just trying to offer a fully rounded system), whereas EMC sells basically only storage and it works with any system. EMC has stated though that they may consider SUNW competition in the future once SUNW decides on the direction they are headed. Luckily, the storage market is not only very large but growing very fast, likely plenty of room for competition. I doubt that SUNW would sacrifice margins in an attempt to compete with EMC. JDN
