This crap about companies setting up, committing, and relying upon "Free and Inexpensive" software systems to operate their MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR logistical networks is complete HORSECRAP. Ron, I don't know how to put this. Maybe you should sit down. OK, ah, the Internet is running on free software. Now, I'm not just talking about the free browser you're using; I'm talking about most of the webservers that your browser is connecting up with and corporate firewalls that protect your company's data. You might want to look into this think called Apache Web Server: it's what drives the web. It's free, as in no dollars and no cents. Ditto for large numbers of bet-your-business information servers: there's this little thing called Linux. But hey, forget all that free stuff that's holding up the Internet despite exponential growth. Let's focus on those companies that charge cash money: Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Sybase, Whatever. They have the goods right now and they have turnkey systems. One-stop shopping, so to speak. So don't get hooked on the idea that these B2B start-ups are sitting pretty because they're not.
