<As for comedians, I feel a great void in my life since Sam Kinison passed away, may he rest in peace. He was a master.>

Kinison was great! I had tickets to see him in the mid 80's in Vegas. Ate at a fancy Italian restaurant for lunch before the night of his performance. My friend and I both got food poisoning. Ended up sick in bed and calling out to a delivery druggist for medicine. Damn!

ps: Come to think of it, I wish Sam was here to talk to Schwab for me when they call tomorrow. I'll bet he could handle that just fine.

Sam Kinison was the best!

If you go to Napster, you can download quite a few of his routines. (free!, now that many of us are much poorer than we used to be not so very long ago - March) For those not familiar with him, it is well worth it!

I feel a great void in my life since Sam Kinison passed away...

i can't remember if i cried. but i MEANT to.

damn.

i sure meant to.

he gave me some of the biggest, baddest laugh tears of my life - he came here on his "louder than hell" tour and i laughed so hard i needed a paramedic but no one would get me one because i was laughing too hard. (people just won't call a doctor for someone who's laughing) that's probably why sam's dead - no one would call an ambulance - they were all laughing their @sses offfff - and he probably was too.

i can't remember if i cried. but i MEANT to.

damn.

i sure meant to.

<silence>

Morning Jeremy,

You are right about Sam. He was definitely one of a kind. Loved many of his routines and he was great with Dangerfield in Back to School.

Joel

AFTERHOURS QUOTES---&----EARNINGS RELEASE DATES

Voltaire's Porch Basket of Stocks

These Stock Have Not Been Picked By Any One Individual

GORILLA--A company that controls it market because it has a discontinuous innovation ,one that is not compatible with existing systems. The market is in a hyper growth stage, and they control the architecture. There is a high switching cost to using some other company's product,

KING--The Market leader, properly with a two-times lead or better over its closest competitor. If the lead shrinks too far, the king becomes a prince, and we have a kingless market. Because they lack architectural control, and because switching costs are low, they cannot force competitors onto the defensive the way Microsoft, Intel, or Cisco can. Compaq is a king. Seagate is a king of hard drives.

A lot of study has been done on these stocks by the Gorilla and Kings thread. There are the stocks that are discussed most often on the porch........and 1 or more are in most porcher's portfolio.
