Thanks for the summary.

Phobian is named Fovian (if I remember the name correctly). It was started by Carver Mead, one of the luminaries of semiconductor science from the days before Intel. He has spoken at both Gilder conferences I have attended. Photos are amazing, but I do not know enough about the market. National Semi is a big investor as is another semi company.

Glad he still likes QCOM and ATML; I assume from comment on Optical and JDSU he also likes Ciena.

Thanks again.

Gilder does remove companies from the list from time to time - @Home and Tellabs come immediately to mind.

thanks very much jazzcat2000!

very informative indeed. As far as superconductor companies are concerned, did Gilder mention which of them is the most well-run? I did a cursory check on them and they almost seem more like R&D firms rather than business firms looking to make profits.

jazzcat2000--

Are you also "Ruffian?" This post was also on the NTAP thread under that name.

Another company Gilder removed from the list was Qwest(Q). He didn't like their hookup with T, I believe.

Thank you for the summary--interesting.

jazzcat2000, thanks for the excellent report. Some questions I have. You named some companies that he doesn't currently have listed in his recommended list such as Vignette, Net Appliance and Inktomi. Did he actually bring these companies up or was it in response to a question. Such as what do you think about Inktomi? I believe that is quite a big difference.
