Steve,

What really impressed me today was that some of the pre-announcement stories mentioned 1.25 GHz Tbird in June. Now that will be awsome.

Can you imagine how much money AMD could make in the 4th Quarter this year if it produces more than 10M Athlons?

Well, that is Q4 2001, according to the schedule for Dresden ramp from the conference call.

Here is JCs summary: jc-news.com

Q: (Cooperman) What's capacity in existing fabs? -- A: Plenty. Question is ramping it. Dresden has capacity for 5000 a week, right now we're starting at 500 a week -- we just upped that to 600 a week. Dresden expected to be fully ramped by end of 2001, consistent with our 30% unit share goal.

I would be all for accelerating this schedule, but I think AMD has to first sign some contracts to sell Athlon class chips in the business sector. I think Jerry is also waiting for a definite confirmation that everything is perfectly fine with the Dresden copper process.
