Steve,

I think AMD is going to sail past 30 million chips sold this year, and 40 million is not outside the upper range.

I think 30 million chips is possible. If Fab 25 keeps producing 6.5 million per quarter (26 million per year) and .5, 2 and 4 million chips in Q2, Q3 and Q4, we are at 32.5 million. The problem is that to make a Spitfire chip or K6-2+ may require more die space than K6-2 it replaces.

Joe

Are you into that wacky tobacky again?

Remember Sanders is a very optimistic man...he has to be....but I will be happy with 25 mil to 30 mil. I am afraid 40 mil will cause Dresden to strain itself painfully.

SteveC:

Great idea...I suspect the analysts will now be paying much closer attention to Mr. Sanders when he speaks, only now in a very positive manner!
