Now now Kelvin, it is NOT healthy that people are losing money. What is healthy is the process of the market. It cannot keep going up. Assuming that we are still in a long term bull market, which i believe, then this correction is healthy in that it is purging the market of the some of the speculative excesses that have built up. Markets do correct and the greater the excess, the greater the corrections. So, as painful as this process is, keep in mind that the nas has given back 25% from the high, but this is on top of a what 100% rise over the past year. the laws of gravity have not been repealed, at least to my knowledge.
So many people felt that you could keep throwing money at the nets/tech/bios and keep making 10-20% per week or day. I still remember my friend, who 2 months ago, moved money out of funds that were "only" up 70% in 1999 into funds that had more "potential". If this ain't frothy excess, i don't have a clue what is.
