Crashes generally involves index stocks and pull down all the rest of the stocks. But each day the index pull back sounded like a big number; that number has to be divided by all the stocks in the index. So, it may be smaller than the 30% pull back you get for overbought condition. When crash recovers, the oversold move will inch up a little bit. But alas, it soon will be business as usual.
