Not only are earnings becoming important but on top of all that, there is this weird thing I only just heard of for the first time today. It's called a PE ratio? Is that something new? Some of the stocks we watch don't even have a PE!

I am joking of course.

A month or so ago some analyst ended his interview by saying that investors are going to care again about earnings and valuations. <JAWS Soundtrack> Interacting as interviewers do, Maria "the Brain" Baritiromo wrapped things up with the following memorably clever, succinctly articulated reflection of her view. She said, as she looked back into the camera, "We'll see."

Well I guess I'm beginning to see.
