Thanks for the updated analysis on ALSC holdings. Your analysis understates the actual value of the major stock holdings because a 40% tax rate would not be applied to the full asset value. Instead, taxes would only be on the amount of appreciation above cost. Though ALSC may have substantial gains, they will only owe tax on a percentage of their gains. I'm not sure a 40% tax rate would be applied in any case (that seems high).

AND I think there is substantial value in the ongoing chip business and the venture companies, especially as we are going into a sellers' market in the semiconductor business. Leaving these parts out of the analysis is a surefire way of undervaluing the company.
