UF, my record in timing the market has not been stellar -- but it has generally worked out, though I have more often than not, left some money on the table.

In tax-deferred accounts, the odds are excellent that one can achieve enhanced returns through market timing. For at least the past 10 years, at some point each year, the market offers a sale -- and sometimes a fire-sale. The tough part is pulling the trigger when the time comes.

Perhaps to some extent it is a matter of expectations -- I really am not looking for gargantuan returns. Most who invested in the g&ks' that your thread so ably helps to identify had some spectacular returns over the first 2-3 months of this year -- I must assume this to be the case since I was in some of the very same stocks. The question that one must ask oneself is whether there is any level of return or price appreciation that would cause one to decide to cash out in whole or part.

Thanks for having created a great thread -- it has certainly enriched my SI experience.
