Actually, I was sliding head first on my back in the center divider area of the 405 north in L.A. I had cuts on my back where my leather coat was worn through.

It was a life changing event...It wasn't so much the crash as the fear of being run over. It was around 3:00pm and the rush hour traffic was heavy, but not enough to slow the cars down. Couple of broken bones, couple of cuts and abrasions...I was lucky.

No motorcycles in the McKie family.

I always wear a helmet when I am cycling too. Been in the horsepistol twice from bike crashes too.
