In cuba both Elian and his father are property of the state.

In cuba Elian's father has no rights to see Elian and will be allowed to see him infrequently. You are very lucky in that the situation in which you live, makes Elian and his father's cuban life, unreal to you.

You cannot believe that a communist state is stone cold evil and that no one and I mean no one can do anything but be a chattel of the state.

"To each according to his needs, from each to his ability."

That slogan is the root of the horror that serfs in facist and communist states suffer from. The state determines your need and ability. Woe to you if you object.
