when ed does the 01 put repair he also gets a tax loss this year in spite of being able to use the $ this year. thus here i am paying a shitload of taxes and he's not!!!!

You just have to be patient tho it holds margin capacity for a long time

DM - your thinking is correct I have been rolling out of all my Apr puts (JDSU, SEBL, PMCS) picking August and September to roll out to ! Trying to roll down on the strike however to lower some of the margin requirements.

i would prefer due to the overall market dynamic to swap for the lowest strike, farthest out (at least jan) put contract...

thinking that if the stocks rally, your strike as it is at or below market will cause the premium to erode almost on par with the upward move of the common
