I cannot understand the "missing research' comment.

I did say there was a fringe that did not overlap, the Right and the Wrong, the Good and the Bad. Sure, I'd put the Golden Rule into one of the fringes, the Good fringe.

But will you admit that the Golden Rule is one big fat generalization? Like, it ain't specific Right or Wrong. It be customized Right or Wrong. Set up to one's own standards?

On rereading, did you edit(?), I have the feeling you called my posts, at the least, lackluster.

If this is true, you name the location, and I will name the weapons!

Love, G.

Something like the golden rule spans many (but not ALL cultures) but the doing unto yourself and the doing unto others part changes dramatically.

I can easily argue that it spans many cultures because it is a VERY simple rule. It's like revenge killings and/or blood money- these span MANY cultures- not because it's innate to revenge kill or to get blood money- but because that greases the skids of society. It's an easy way to handle murder, without total mayhem.
