Options are very interesting from a tax vantage point.

In their 1999 summary, Fido advised me that they don't 1099 options trades! That means Uncle Sam only knows what you tell him!

So unless you get audited, you apparently can do whatever you want. But if you evade taxes and are unlucky enough to get audited, you may be in more trouble than you bargained for.

I think each of us needs to check with our personal tax advisor on a key issue like this.
