[MIPS] Contract revenue was $8.8 million, an increase of 159 percent compared to $3.4 million in the comparable period in fiscal 1999.

Might as well quote the next sentence:

"The contract revenue increase of $5.4 million was the result of technology license fees from new and existing agreements."

It's a tollbooth. Iron & sand are more my trip. They sure draw a fine distinction between royalties & license fees. Good luck.
