OT: Nice to hear from you. How do you find Adelaide? Let me know when you are in Sydney we can go for a beer.

We just done some tests of Object Store for a Sydney financial data provider. Currently they are using Microsoft SQL server which at peeks of ASX (Australian Stock Exchange) activity struggles to write 1000 record per second. That is on dual P-III 600MHz with 500Gb RAM. We tried Object Store. I knew it would be good because I had some experience using it in other applications. The result was 11,000 committed records per second running on a "Mickey Mouse" notebook. The read rate was 90,000 records per second on the same notebook. In next few weeks we will try to deploy Object Store and chuck Microsoft SQL Server .... to a bin. So much about "The fastest database in the World" claim from Microsoft. We may even get the money back.

Cheers,

Pawel
