Jenna,
During the last major Tech correction in summer of '99 I remember you saying that stocks like VRSN, INSP, and VRIO would lead the next move up. And sure enough, they were the leaders of this previous rally up to Nasdaq 5100. Do you have any opinion on which stocks or sectors will be the leaders during the next sustained Tech rally? Thanks.

Jenna, I know what you mean about PHCM, that is a stock that is manipulated alot. Looking at the chart, it looks like it had a 1 for 3 stock split in the last month. I will never forget the day this all started back in August of 1999 when Sprint announced that it was using PHCM's microbrowser. The stock was at 27 (split adjusted) and topped out at 208 in March. Some large traders have made enormous profits from this stock both up and down. It will be interesting to see what happens to this stock in the next couple of weeks.

PHCM..something is fishy. I shorted at first early morning when there were lots of buyers, at 101 after I bailed, and I know there was uptrend, in fact PHCM was as high as 102 3/16 AFTER I put in sell short order.. It wasn't filled and from 102 there were no more upticks. I have no answers. I don't want to be paranoid, but someone manipulated

Is it possible that this such a prime shorting opportunity-everyone always anticipated it would come-
some selection is being made on who gets the short shares?.........Naaa I can't be that suspicious

Jenna: One, and I stress "one" of the reasons that stocks drop so hard so fast at times and you can't get a PHCM short off if that there are "specialists" on the NYSE floor and NASDAQ firms that, by taking positions, have been really taking it in the neck while stocks were flying. Now they're "getting it back." My friend Barney Bufflekarp, the retired bookmaker always knew that he should "balance" his book; take $40,000 on the Jets, a similar amount on the Raiders, take his commissions. But, being human, he'd sometimes take a position on a team he liked. It happens. (Lee)
