Steven, You're right about politics creeping in but, in this case, Bush did check the transcripts of the trial, and the results of the appeals before he made his decision. Because of the protestors, and uproar, I feel that he did not make such a judgement rashly. That is not to say that every case can receive such close attention. At any rate, when he leaves for DC, he won't have that chore facing him. There will be a lot harder nuts to crack in the oval office. ~H~
