Scumbria, I don't read this thread much, but I'm somewhat fascinated by all the flacks who think that anybody who says anything negative about Rambus the technology is just an investor in somebody that Rambus is trying to shake down. There are a lot of geeks around who just think it's really stupid to pay 5x as much for memory with no perceivable performance gain. Then there's the ever pleasant habit of the Rambus types always emulating the mother company in threatening legal action against anybody who says anything bad about Rambus. Feh. It's one thing when Intel sends out the legal dogs of war, at least they got good engineering (aside from the fiasco of their various Rambus-enabled chipsets) , and actually build stuff themselves. Rambus thinks they're going to take over the world with bogus patents, well, maybe.

If you really want to be amused by Rambus flackery, though,y you should check out John Corse on Usenet, see x25.deja.com[ST_rn=ap]/dnquery.xp?search=word&defaultOp=and&query=%7ea%20(nospamplease@nospam.com)%20%26%20%7eg%20(comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.chips)&svcclass=dnserver&ST=MS&CONTEXT=955681576.966131776 for example. He seems to have gone silent, he's probably moved on to another alias. Maybe he's here, too.

Cheers, Dan.
