Thank you very much KurtSS & Justa for the p/c links and info. I am learning that there are many varieties of p/c ratios. According to today?s IBD, the "Ratio of Price Premiums P/C " is at a 12 month low of 0.16 and the five year low is 0.13 set on 8/31/98 (remember the left bottom of the dow 7500 double bottom).
On the 9/1/98 broadcast, Bob said "yesterday afternoon's p/c ratio showed pure panic. A 1 or 2 in a decade event" I am sure of the quote but not sure of which ratio (premium, volume or whatever) p/c ratio he was referring to.
The bottom line is that they all move together and yesterdays 0.16 approaches the 0.13 8/31/98 number. So, we can conclude that their is some fear in the market now. After the market reacts to the CPI number, they may be more fear. It takes more than fear to make a bottom, but it is a prerequisite or initial condition.

Next stop - establish a bench mark low that we can watch for a retest of it.
