Last fall Bill Miller was quoted as saying he would be interested in AMZN if it fell to x. Anyone remember what x was?

I think it was 40--which would make sense based on on where the stock was trading before the Christmas ramp--but I'm not sure.

What matters is the damage -- the segment of the population most likely to want to own these stocks -- or that impulse in the average person -- will be as alive as the current enthusiasm for IOM.

What you call damage, Eric Wells (and I agree) would call an eye-opening to reality. I doubt we really know how the average investor thinks, but those who don't (think) will find themselves in a tight spot with either money or returns. That's not necessarily a good thing on an individual basis, but it does cull "investors" who buy stocks for the wrong reasons.
