Elmer...Re...<<<<<I must have misunderstood his question. I thought he was talking about ALL processors being shipped. If the question was simply "name any part that has increased shipments by 50-90%" then the answer is easy: ..CuMine.. by many times more than the 50-90% he mentioned. This is really a no-brainer and Intel really has shipped over 1 million good die from a single fab on a weekly basis. >>>>>>>>>>>

Wrong again Elmer, Cuppermine is just a renamed PIII. In fact Coppermine is listed as a PIII_E_B. It is not a new processor and is taking over sales from earlier versions. Now is you can convince me all PIII sales increased by 50-90% you will be correct. A renaming of a processor doesn't make it a new processor. Secondly Coppermine wasn't in full production at the start or end of 4q-99 ;because Intel was rampimg up to smaller 18. um. so if you want to call it a new processor, it doesn't meet the parameters. Sales didn't go up, only manufacturing. However Athlon wasn't production constrained as AMD had enough capacity to meet demand at the start and finish of 4q-99; and in fact had a 200k inventory on 12/31/99. Motherboards were a problem early but were resolved by nov - 99.
