RNWK--RealNetworks Founder and CEO Rob Glaser Presented With
Broadcasting & Cable

Magazine's 'Digital Television Pioneer Award' at NAB 2000 Conference

Rob Glaser, founder and CEO of RealNetworks(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK), the

recognized leader in media delivery on the Internet, was presented with

Broadcasting & Cable Magazine's Third Annual "Digital Television Pioneer

Award" in Las Vegas on Monday, April 10, on the occasion of the National

Association of Broadcasters Conference.

The award, which was created in 1998 by Don West, Publisher of

Broadcasting and Cable Magazine, is presented annually to one or more

persons who have played a key role in advancing digital television. Rob

Glaser was presented the award for his 'pioneering work on audio and video

streaming over the Internet through the development of RealAudio(R),

RealVideo(R) and other technologies'. This is the first time someone

representing Internet media has received the honor.

Glaser, who founded in RealNetworks in 1995, has long been intrigued with

the nexus of media, computing, and communication. He is a recognized

leader in this growing industry, as television and radio transition from

broadcast and cable to an online medium. He serves on several non-profit

boards and committees, including his appointment by President Clinton to

the Advisory Committee on Public Interest Obligations of Digital

Television Broadcasters

In addition to receiving the award on Monday, Glaser also celebrated a

significant milestone in RealNetworks' history, with the company logging

115 million unique registered users of its RealPlayer in April, just five

years after the company was founded in 1995.
