AMES ventures into medicines with cobranding on the web, next month.

Traps to avoid? Assuming social security crowd would buy medicine on the web. Most do not own computers. The web crowd is well heeled and making big money on the web. Walmart and Gap all overestimated their customers, thinking they have web access.

Ames will need the complete discount drugstore facility including soda jerk to attract the well heeled web surfers. It may turn out to be a huge resource drain.

Instead, AMES should sell the customers list to this site, and/or run it totally on its own. Or sell it to venture capitalists for their deep pocket investments.

Stock pulled back hard, down almost 9% today, for this news.
