I think the fairness thing- as manifested in "He got more than me..." etc- is totally social broadcasting. But that's merely my theory- I simply see no evidence to suggest it is innate. My babies seemed to think everything in the world was THEIRS, and that there were no issues of fairness- they seemed to be rudely surprised when they found out differently. That's my experience and I choose to extrapolate from it.
