Hello Q! Like you, I trimmed some KEG yesterday. I picked up some PXD, OEI and GLBL this morning at the open.

OEI - I know you own OEI but are not impressed with them at the moment, but I'm betting that OEI's management will be able to carry the ball. MWD says OEI is one of the few E&P companies structured to operate in the new environment of limited capital and capital discipline. MWD thinks OEI management is guided by profitable growth, not growth for the sake of growth.

E&P's vs. OSX - I think what makes this cycle different from the last cycle is the increased demand for NG going forward. With the number of gas powered turbines coming online, I can't help but think this will help the E&P's in the long run.

The drillers in OSX land will still have their day, but I think I'll keep a couple of these E&P's. My fav's in the drillers are PDE and FLC. I believe they used their leverage to the greatest benefit by investing in their new fleet of drill-ships. Can you say huge day-rates?

More on SFS - SFS gets an upgrade from S&P:

"The recognition by Standard & Poor's of our strong balance sheet, improved credit ratios, and healthy financial outlook is a very positive signal for the capital markets," said Mark A. Jackson, Chief Financial Officer. "Santa Fe Snyder is well positioned at this point in the cycle with strong cash flow, a growing reserve and production base, a well diversified set of development opportunities, and a mature inventory of exploration prospects."
