It MSFT can get below 40 again, I will probably buy some serious amount of stock. In the meantime though, I will probably do my three play "average down scheme". I'm waiting to use the first third of my money allocated for MSFT now, with my proverbial finger resting on the buy trigger..... Then if the stock continues to plunge, I'll use the second stage of the money to lower the total cost basis at some support level, and so on. This strategy has worked well for me with other stocks in the past, as long as they do not go into bankruptcy court! I do tend to buy a bit early, so must be very careful here with my patience and not panic to the buy side. Yogi

The best thing about the nasqda selloff is that greenspan will probaly curb any other rate hikes unless he wants to
run the country into the ground.

This happened in 97 and he decrease interest rates 3 times to get the us out of that funk..

What is happening is good for the markets.

I doubt we'll see that. Even if the market returns to traditional valuation ratios, MSFT would get a 35 P/E. Despite the recent selling the market remains overvalued on any rational basis.

I expended some of my precious cash today, adding to AMAT and INTC, and picking up TXN at last. I had fleeting thoughts about adding to EMC but it hasn't hit my downside target yet. My intuition says we've not seen the worst yet, but who knows? Nasdaq's in the 3200-3500 range promised by my technician friends.

Cheers!
