what did the inflation figures exactly say?

Economy
March CPI was considerably worse than expected. The CPI rose 0.7% and the core rose 0.4% vs expectations of +0.5% for the CPI and +0.2 percent for the core.
Services outside of energy accelerated in March, particularly in housing.
Does not signal an acceleration in inflation though some may think it will.
the CPI is up 3.7%, which is likely the peak, and the core is up 2.4%, much more modest but the biggest increase in about a year.
