I downloaded daily historical data from yahoo.com going back to Jan. 1997. Then I have daily updates from excite.com. I check all the updates for errors. I had to fix a number of errors in the historical data. It was a pain, but it's done. I think it's worth $20/month to get it from a reliable vendor.

I originally download all 500 files one at a time and it took a couple of hours - aarrrggg. However, now I program in Java and can have the program download all the data automatically.

I will be working on some charts of the data. I'm sure there's something useful there.
