Freeus: Don't know when NTAP will be "oversold," since that is a numerical judgment one can only draw in hindsight. I pick up on others' use of it in good fun. Short answer: I see strong support at the base around 40-41 that was put in over almost a month's time, spanning the new year. See for yourself; I'm a TA amateur:bigcharts.com O/T Longer answer: I think I understand what most investors mean by "oversold." I roughly equate it with my preferred term--bargain . That is: a stock priced below what its fundamentals support in the existing and expected market environment, with a chart that gives signs of price support. Obviously, what is a "bargain" is quite a personal judgment, and varies by degree for most people--for me it's a continuum. I'm entering GG stocks at an initial and then (if seen) a fire sale level. I used to think charting has little predictive value, but the last several years have shown me how often support and resistance prices affect many or most stocks. Of course, charting got me ELON at 42.5--and quite happy about it, until today. (Yeah, I know, that's what happens when you buy non-gorillas, but I saw my downside to 15 before I bought, and I believe in the future of the company's IPR and execution, so I'll at least double down if it gets near 15, which looks like support in a full-blown sell-off). Got CREE at 109, and I'll add there too if it goes to 90. Can't believe it'll visit support at 60 after the great results yesterday. I don't panic sell because I just don't have short term expectations for my LT tech stocks. Difference now compared to my #@*&^% bad "investments" before: Once I get GG stocks (including kings and princes and--dare I say it--even pebbles), I'm keeping them. Charting just helps me decide where to buy them. This is LTB&H, because the "B" doesn't have to mean "right now." Where I depart thread wisdom is in not devoting all or nearly all my portfolio assets to GG stocks, but I'm moving that way.
