BOBJ -11 7/8 .. hello.. shouldn't you have waited a day or so for your announcement? Was this meant for the stock to move up. I was stopped out of BOBJ on 4/11 after losing 4 points profits, a little disgrunted (80) but none too worse for wear. Since then its been bounding down even more now its 72 but the good news still keeps rolling out. Now I'm not sure all these announcements are not ploys to artificially move these stocks up once again. Today I wasn't 'buying' any of this. Business Objects Announces Support for New Version of IBM DB2 Universal Database Business Objects to Offer Joint Customers Continued e-Business Intelligence Functionality for their IBM DB2 Systems SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 2000-- Business Objects (NASDAQ: BOBJ - news), the world's leading provider of e-business intelligence (e-BI) solutions, today announced plans to enhance its products to support IBM DB2© Version 7 Universal Database, the new release of IBM's database for business-critical systems. BusinessObjects(tm) and WebIntelligence© currently support the DB2 V6 database engine as well as Visual Warehouse and IBM DB2 OLAP Server products. Business Objects plans to continue supporting these elements in DB2 V7 with the next release of its e-business intelligence suite etc.. [Editor's note]ad nauseum.. Traders and individual investors are posting news of this sort in chat rooms on message boards when this news is only good for 1 day at the most and nothing at the very least. Much of the time the news is posted AFTER the stock has reached intraday highs. Posters and traders act as if this means clean sailing for days to come, when in actuality all it means is 'CAUTION: sell-off pending'. We should be watching the charts and ignore anything but 'earnings news' and even those just file away and act only as the charts move with the news. When you are buying the 'news' others more experienced are 'selling the news'. And while you might get a little more gusto after a good earnings report, it still means sell the news, only at the intraday high or slightly off, instead of in the morning.
