Amy, re: Intel EPS growth

Quick math, average 34.37%. And according to Intel we have strong revenue growth and GM expansion this year. Plus Itanium (some would say incremental sales) and Willy. I wouldn't want to guess the contribution from the new businesses, but flash should be a plus.

When Intel was in the 140's, I posted that I thought Intel had gotten ahead of itself. After today, I would say it's gotten well behind itself.

Irrational markets are only fun when you are on the irrational side.

John

amy, i s/h said eps from operations. intel has padded eps with one time gains from the sale of internet stocks at bubble prices. if you look at the last three years and calculate avg growth during that time frame, 18% will show up on your calculator (including the one time gains).

i'm not as far off as you might have initially thought.

Amy J, John Fowler, and thread,

Due to the state of the markets, I am concerned with the rumors that seem to be getting stronger that Intel will not make its quarter. By way of disclosure, I am neither long nor short Intel nor am I trying to flame the stock. I simply am concerned that how goes Intel so goes the markets.

I know over at the AMD thread, we had a good idea ahead of time that AMD would have a good quarter. What's the consensus here re Intel and its earnings report?

TIA,

ted
