JimL,

What a week, I was pleased with PXD and P, the only ones I have on your list. The rest was red city. I closed tech shorts this afternoon and went long in tech for the first time in AMAT at 80. I used the money I was saving for FLC or GLM. AMAT I think has much better short term potential than any oil, service, or EnP.

This is now not only a golden opportunity for the future of oils and EnP's, but also for select tech stocks.

If you are interested, check out the Morgan Stanley HIgh Technology Trust. Closed today at 820, believe it hit 1350, it has 40 of the best and the brightest tech stocks.

Thanks oil and gas for more or less holding your own, we can sleep well this weekend.

Tech investor reaction - too funny not to share.

Take VA Linux Systems (LNUX: news, msgs), one of the stock market's biggest outta-the-gates success stories. When this issue hit the Street and climbed as high as $320 a share, visions of an early retirement danced through shareholders' heads. See archived story.

Boy oh boy, what a difference $290 makes. The stock closed at 28 15/16 to end the hideous week and beaten-down longs, like DefDog on Raging Bull, could hardly believe their eyes: "LNUX is a beyond a disaster. That CHART is making history. Future investing books will devote a chapter to this disaster."

And a little tongue-in-cheek from PeteBarnum: "When the NASDAQ corrected, LNUX fell ... When the NASDAQ rallied, LNUX fell ... When the NASDAQ slipped again, LNUX fell. That's why I like this stock. It's such a consistent performer."

Of course, keeping a sense of humor helps in times like this. TopChefStuff: "Just got in from 3 weeks of ice fishing in Canada. AKAM must have had a 4-for-1 stock-split. When did this happen?" That was a joke, right?

At least some are maintaining their sense of humor.

That first poster is right. We are making history right now.
